C oat w ith liquid glue and apply
first around the aides and ends
of th e box leaving one h alf inch
over a t th e top. Now slflsh a t the
corners, fold over and sm ooth down
the to p and inside. C ut th e gold
panels fo r the outside afid inside
of top, leaving one fo u rth inch
less all around th an th e actu al size
of the surface and lepage in piece.
To com plete, let it. dry and shellac.

fo r the jiack and plaid th e panels
fo r the fro n t one fo u rth inch less

G lue in place, let d ry and apply a
th in coat of shellac.

across under th e ends of th e base

To com plete, let it d ry and shellac.
F o r the ink well and penholder,
first rem ove the g lass cup, then
cut gold strip s f o r ali the edges
and fo r groove, allow ing one half
inch lap over on both sides. Then
cut gold panels one fo u rth inch
less th a n actual size fo r various
su rfaces of the base and the well.
Now c u t the plaid strip s fo r the
edges of th e cover, to p and bottom ,
and lepage in place. L et it dry,
and shellac.
To m ake th e le tte r holder, cut
the gold strip s fo r all edges and
fo r the top o f th e b ase w ith one
h a lf inch to lap over both sides.
