How to Repair It.

ju stab le guide holder. By loosening
the thum bscrew , the holder Is raised,
lowered, or ro tated about the overflow
tube. By loosening the lock n u t and
turning the guide screw, the horizontal
position of th e guide is fixed exactly
over the cen ter of th e valve. These
ad ju stm en ts are very Im portant. The
upper lift w ire should loop Into the
lever arm hole n earest to a vertical

for Lemon Pie Filling
H ere’s a reliable recipe for lemon
pie filling. Mix th ree tablespoonfuls
of co rnstarch with one cupful of cold
w ater and one-eighth teaspoonful sa lt;
place over th e Are and stir constantly
until thickened and the cornstarch
thoroughly cooked - about ten min
utes. Add th ree-fo u rth s cupful of
sugar, four tablespoonfuls lemon Julep,
g rated rind of h alf a lemon, one table­
spoonful b u tter and th ree egg yolks,
well beaten. Cook for one or twe
m inutes over steam .
Pour Into a
cooked p astry shell and cover with a
m eringue made by thoroughly heating
th e egg w hites and adding th e sugar
and a little salt. B ake nt a low tem ­
p era tu re (250 degrees F ah ren h eit) fot
20 m inutes, then raise the tem pera
tu re until the m eringue is a light
brown.
