dents of Oregon for the privilege
of catching a trout or shooting a
deer is out of proportion to the
great amount of game and fish and
cornpitraiively sparsely populated
slate. If there are any defenders
of the high fees they are unknown
to the w riler.
One reason for the increase was
because a b ill was passed separat­
ing the hatcheries for game and
commercial fish, requiring separate
wardens, additional hatcheries and
more clerks and office rent.
