CHAMBER EDITORIAL M ith the shift of the ha'ance of control to the Republican side of the cham bers a fte r the recent elections, there seems to be every reason to believe that the 80th Congress, which begins proceed ings in Jan u ary , will put a mucn needed brake on the helter- skelter antics of the handful of labor leaders who have virtually controlled the country’s economic system fo r the past few years. It hag been the apparent policy of the New Deal to shower or ganized labor with privileges, while placing the brunt of re sponsibility upon m anagement. In the last nnalysis, the produc- e-s are responsible for a peace time production t i fulfill the reeds of the puhli-. while irre sponsible labor leaders have ham strung their effo rts with no consideration Whatsoever for the resulting '•haos in the w elfare of the nation. The G. O. P. cannot pass legis lation to cripple completely the fundam ental principles of labor’« well-founded rights, but they will have to come to some solution to the problem of forcing the power mad labor leaders to ac cept the duty to the public w hi'h should he correlative with their rights.
