Scott made a business trip to Grants Pass the first of this week. — o— Jim Allen and George Hood were in the valley from Grants Pass last Saturday looking over some timber. Jim now resides in Grants Pass with his family. Mrs. E. H. Messenger returned the first of the week from San Francisco where she visited her son and daughter-in-law for the past two weeks. Mr. ami Mrs. Charles I.emmon and family spent a short time this week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Wilber. Mrs. Lem mon is their daughter. Winston Tuttle returned Mon day morning from Portland where he took his examination for the army, and was rejected on ac count of physical disabilities. —o— A marriage license was issued at the county clerk's office in Grants Pass last Saturday to Wiley Bruce Jordan, truck driver and Lucy Sanders, cook and waitress, both of t'ave Junction. ——o— Gordon Leo.’aid returned from Portland Sunday morning where he reported for his physical exam ination and will leave this coming i Sunday to report for his induction I into the army at Ft, Lewis. —o—— Mrs. Roy Houston and hei sister Mrs. Violet Cousins, left last Fri day for Los Ange’es, after spend ing a week here visiting frits Houston’s husband, who recently purchased t'.e Rexford ranch. — o— Mr. and Mrs. Jap Parkinson. Jr. returned home last Friday from Compton, Calif., where they spent the past month with Mr. and Mrs. J. Parkinson, Sr. The latter mot ored to Cave Junction with them returning south last Sunday. — o— Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Wilber re turned last week from Cottage Grove where they visited their daughter, Mrs. Matt Smith and | family during the recent holidays. ■ Mr. Wilber said there was plenty of high water but they had no dif ficulty getting home. —o— Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Baumberger spent last week eml with their family. They returned to Med ford Sunday evening where Mr. Baumberger is stationed at Camp White. Mrs. Baumberger is em ployed in a department store. —o— Ray Denton, telephone operator' at the Redwoml Ranger Station, win taken to the Josephine Gen oral hospital last Saturday with a ! collapsed and punctured lung and i broken rib. sustained in an acci dent when a passing ear forced him into loose gravel and off the | road over an embankment neat the \pplegate bridge. Harold Bow erman was notified and immedi ately went to the scene of the ac cident. He just sold three lots on Caves highway to Mr. and Mr«. Percy Bracey of Riverside. Calif. Mr. Larsen also sold two lots to Charles G. Bracey, of San Diego and son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bracey. The Rebeccas have very kindly loaned their kitchen for these meetings, which will be held each Wednes day afternoon. The marriage is to take place on Sunday, January 24th, at 4 p. m.. St. Mark’s Luthern church, San: Francisco. The Schlamms ha\ej visited in the valley during past summers.
