CORNELL-FLANAGAN HOP CROP IS SOU The Cornell-Flanagan hop crop of 474 bales has been sold to John Car mlchael of Salem, and will be loaded for shipment at oucp, the hauling from the warehouse at the hop yard west of this city having already com menced. Five cars will be required to move the crop, and It is expected that they will go to London, though their routing has not yet been or dered. RUDDY LKFT FOR THE EAST SUNDAY Dr. Reddy left Portland Tuesday evening for the east, and there Is ev ery assurance that word will come within a few days of the successful financing of the Grants Pass-Crescent City railroad throughout its entire distance to the sea. Before leaving Portland the doctor was assured by the representatives of bond buying houses that the Grants Pass muni cipal issue of $200,000 bonds would be sold next Saturday night, or as soon as the details were arranged, and with this settled to hla satis faction "Reddy was in a position to arrange for financing the balance of the road. He will be joined In the east by Mr. Hotrhklss and the other heads of the redwood lumbering In terests, and plans that are already practically arranged for the Immedi ate building of the toad will be ma tured. The Public Utilities commission met Wednesday to consider bids that had been asked for the clearing of the right-of-way, and the bid made by C. C. Hammersley was ac cepted. Under this bid Mr. Ham mersley agreed to clear the right-of-way from station 279 to 477 at the rate of $41 per acre. The distance covered by the bid Is about three miles, and runs to the Applegate river. The clearing is to be done by April 1st. Mr. Hammersley hns not yet signed up the contract.
