MlltieK, eo'l them VI SOLID WEEK OF WATER SPORTS Coos Bay in Carnival Attire During J Middle of Auifust From August 13 to 22, inclusive, Coos Bay will be the scene of contin uous merriment. During that week there will be motwr boat races of the class of "Gen eral II." "Seattle Spirit," "Wolf II" and other fast boats of thirty miles I an hour or better. A large prizes will be hung up for this event, also a valuable loving cup by the Coos Bay Motor Boat Club, which association will have charge of the water sports. The club has a large program of small races daily. A magnlflclent water parade daily, both In the afternoon and evening; a pageant of floats worth going miles to see. There will be clam bakes, barbe cues, beach rides, sea bathing, hunt ing and fishing parties, automobiling, carnival attractions, receptions, con ventions and a general good time for all. The auto road from Roseburg Is in fine shape, the trip being made daily in seven hours. Auto parties may go there In perfect confidence of reaching the place without mishap as there has been many thousands of dollars spent on the road putting it In fine shape. At this season of the year, while the people of the Willamette Val ley are sweltering with the heat, Coos Bay Is at her best, enjoying a cool and refreshing sea breeze, which to believe fully one must experience per - sonally. A move Is on foot and the commit-j tee has assurances of obtaining two or tnree naniesnips or cruisers ro or cruisers to appear in the offing during the week. This will afford an opportunity to go on board our great gunboats, a privilege rarely extended the average civilian.
