The flrtt annual Rogue River Valley Poultry show was held last week 00 m nienniog Thursday aud oontloul ihrooKh Satorday. This, the Orst effort of the poaltry men was reve lation to the people of this 'Section who have notlooked upon the poultry business aa of moob lmportaooe as yet. The show was held In the reoeutly completed warehouse of Cramer Brothers back of their store, the osa of wbloh waa donated by the Arm. There were M coops of birds on ex hibit, one from Ashland, one from College Place, Wash, and the balaooe from within theouunty. The show was under the Keneral supervision of President John Bummers aud the committee composed of George Cramer, Charloa Klngwell, and J F Fryer. Prof Jttuieg Drrdua of the O A C, was superintendent of ex hibits. The Judge Elmer Dickson of Oregon City, eue of three poultry judges on the Coast, Is licensed by the American Poultry association, and bis deoiaions were universally satis factory. It is estimated that the show was visited by upwards of OiK) people, which number would have been in creased had the weather been aus picious. Hilt Co Mill Build Kallroad The Northern California Lumber Company, which la now operating in the lumber business near the state Hue, as successors to the II 1 It Lumber Co.. Is apparently planning on greatly extending its business, notwithstand ing the reported quiet condition!) in the lumber situation and prospects. Work is to begin at once iu the build ing of six miles of railroad by the company, which is advertising for men and teams for grading. The road will lead 'roiu the Southern Paoitlo main line at Hills station to the mill site four miles and thence be exteu led two miles into the timber. It Is also stated that the compsny is preparing to install a new saw mill of great capacity, vijual or yiperior to any of the mills long the l(io. M. A. The vice-president, shall preside in the absence of the president and shall have all the power and prerogatives of that officer while in the performance of his dnty. Sec. 12. The secretary shall keep in book provided for that purpose, a correct record of the proceedings of each meeting, which shall be pre sented at the next meeting of the com pan v for its approval. He shall keep just and true account of all money that ahull come into his hands and pay the same over to the treas urer, taking bis receipt for the tame. He shall have charge of all books and papers belonging to the company and deliver the saaie to bis successor at the expiration of bis term of office. He shall do all the corresponding for the company and attend to any other business that '. pertains to his office. He shall make a report in writing to be submitted at the annual meeting of this company. Sec 13. Tbe treasorer shall kep In book, provided for that purpose, a correct accoont of all the money that oomes into bis hands from all sources, keep a just and true account between tbe company aud its mem bers. He shall keep his books in such manner that he can at any time report the financial condition of the oompany when called opon, aod shall submit a full report in writing to tbe oompany at the end of his term of offioe. He shall pay all orders 00 the treasury, signed by tbe president and secretary, out of any funds not other wise appropriated. He shall give a bond in such amount and with sncb security as the board of directors shall fix and approve. Sea 4. The Board of directors and officers shall constitute the board of aaaoairement.
