Kan towns find that waste paper receptacles placed on street corners help greatly In keeping the streets free of rnbblah, etc. Yon may spend a great deal of time and money on tbe lawn, but If the edges are not neatly trimmed at each cutting much of Its beauty Is lost When you neglect outdoor house keeping you not only depreciate tbe Talue of your own property, but that of your neighbors. ft doesn't cost much and Is very lit tle trouble to keep a town clean It tbe citizens will co-operate and do their share In the matter. Bi'bool children organized to prevent tbe throwing of rubbish Into t!ie streets may do more effective work than many policemen. It la an Interesting experi ment that might bring good results If made. Glad It Did so Much Good. 8otno remarkablo stories are. tying told about town and among the (.-odd try jiooi li coming in'of tliis sim ple homemade mixture coring Rheu matism and Kidney troohhi. Here is the 'ecipe and directions for taking: Mix by shaking well in a b' ttle onx-half-ounce Fluid Extract Dandelion, one ounce Compound Kargon, three onnces Corircund Syrop Sarsaprilla. Take an a dose one-teaspoouful after meals and at bedtitn '. 'o change need be made In yonr nsual dint, but drink plenty of good water. This mixture, writes one authority in a leading Philadelphia newspaper, has a peculiar tonlo effect upon the kidneys; cleansing the clogged op pores of the eliuiinatlve tisanes, forcing the kidneys to sift and strain from the blood the nrlo acid and other poisonous waste matter, overcoming Rheumatism, Bladder and Urinary troubles in a short while. A New York druggist who has had hondreds of calls for these ingredients since tbe first announcement In the newspapers last October stated that tbe people who once try it "swear by it," especially those who have Urinary and kidney trouble and suffer with Rheumatism. The druggists in this neighborhood say they can supply the Ingredients, which are easily mixed at home. There is said to be ao better cleansing ageut or system tonic, and certainly none more harmless or simple to use. 1-24 It Automoblls Roads In Afrioa. I I Llany Mining Matters- C. J. Mattison, the well known Galioe mining man has been very much under the wether, here at the county seat, for several days past. Bn. now lie is able to be about, again. The Missoori Flat mining district is again coming to the front and Fred Miller is developing the promising piacr property in which he is in terested. At the recent term of oircuit court in Joeephine oounty, Judge H. is'. Hnua tendered a far retching de cision and one of more thau pacing importance, when he rendered a de cision in favor of the defendants, in the hotly contested mining case of Kohertson vs. Madison and Mitchell, Attorney H. D. Norton aud O. 8 Uianchard representing the defend ants. This is regarded as one of the richest gold mines In this entire dis trict The matter as decidedly com plicated, bet the rulings of the court Mere plainly In favor of the defense, and the decision was regarded as a big blow to the would be claim jumpers, as it was claimed that this was really a case of this uatare. This decree will, it is alleged, encourage investment of capital aud labor in legitimate enterprises of this nature. J. W. York has entered into an agreement with F. M. Miller aud Lincoln Savage, for a right of way f r a six fool flume, for mining pur poses, the same to be constructed across land located in section 25, tp 87, e r 5, for the purpose of carrying away foom their placer mine the tail ings, rock, rock sand and gravel. The Murtba Mining Co., has leased to E. E. (Blalock and H U Howe the "St Peters", "Dividend," "Stand ard." "Qootient," "Stella, "Wiz ard." "B N B," "W H B" and "Echo" quarts saining claims, in sootneast qoarter or seo ZS, tp 38 8, r 6, for a period of 27 months, begin fiing October 1, 1900 and extending to December 1, 1108. The lessors sgree to keep two shifts at work daily, and do all work In a workmanlike man ner and to give tbe lsasees 10 per cent of the gross amount of metals extracted for tbe first 13 months aud 20 per cent for the remainder of the lease. The leas la not transferable. E. E. Old Inhabitant Thinks Country Towns Offer More Happiness. "Up at the depot Just now," said one of the old Inhabitants. "I saw several of the boys got off the train to spend the hollduys at home. They've come back to the old town from tbe city, aud I'll bet my bull pup against their turkey dinner with tly home folks that most of 'em would remain right here In town If they were uot asham ?d to Bay thnt city life Is not up to their expectations. And between you and me and the barn door I am strongly Inclined to think that nine out of ten of tbe boys who go from any country town to a big city would make a N-tter winning In the race of life If they would stay at home and grow up with their own community. "1 wont to the city when I was n cub nud stayed several years. But I was homesick uil the time. The young fellow in a great city holding a Job and working so many hours a day for somebody else Is not hy nny means In such an enviable position as some of the people still In the country towns are Inclined to think. "I recall that when I was living In the city many years ago. working on a salary for n famous: establishment, the i local paper here once printed a notice about me that made me laugh out of , one side of my mouth while I cried out j of the other.
