I have been requested to take up the correspondence work and let the people know what is being done in the Applegate valley and the many new changes which are taking place day by day, for the welfare of those seeking home and the many advant ages which the Applegate valley con tains and also to tell of the wonder ful production of fine fruiti, vegeta bles, grains and grasses The William valley, I will alto represent and which in the future will be one of the largest lumber producing valleys in the state for fir and sugar pine lumber. It is at present one of the most productive cattle districts in Josephine or Jackson counties and it has au outside range throughout the surounding mountans. While "Dick Lew man, H. L. Bailey and "Carty" Davidson were out on a little hooting trip, Medneday, the horse of Mr. Lewman "bucked" with him and gave him a bad tumble. He was badly brained, bis arms and face being skinned.
