The ale of the controlling intereat in the Opp mine, which ha been ooiinu mated by Koater & Gunnell of thl oity acting for the owner, J. W. Opp, of Jacksonville to Albany-New York partiea repreaeuted by Richard Murphy of that city, I one ol the moat Important made iu Southern Oregon for the pant year. Mr. Opp held teven-teuth of the stock of the Opp Mining Company, the other three-teuth being held by Fred T. Perry, of Jackaouville, aud Dr. J. K. Reddy, of Medford, aud for hia atock Mr. Opp received (120.000. Mr. Per ry and Dr. Keddy stated that they will retain their atock. The Opp mine ia equipped with a 10-stamp, electrio lower mill, erected la-t fall, a luce which time the mill haa been In highly aucoeaaful opera tion. The building waa erected for 20 stamps and it ia reported that the new maugemeut will at once inatall the additional 10 atampa aud the concentrator. For the present the mill will be under the n auagemeut of Foator & Gunnell. These gentlemen are also in charge of the Oregon Belle located Ave mile weat of the Opp mine, upon which they have installed a 10 c tamp mill, and placed It iu operation two week. There are 213 acre In the Opp tract and on it ail well defined vein have been opcucd up. Nine tunnels have been rim, embracing over 8,000 feet of work. All the vein allow good value, aud thia aummer two strikes of exceptional richness have been made. Since he closed his mine the first of June he has been on an extended trip to Smith river and to Cresceut City aud only returned from the latter place last week to Kerby, where he stopped aeveral days.
