Property-owners have also the right turn loose and drive off cows they find staked on their property. A short time since an agent for a lot of property on the East Side turned lojse some 40 or 50 cows he found on lhe property, and, a« they were wandering atxjut the streets, the poundmaster wan sent for U j take them away. He declined to do » j under the «ircumstances , but. where cows are stake«l out so that they can get on the sidewalks, or into the street«, he will be obliged to arrest them. When she returned, she found the child’s clothes on fire, and the little one so liadly burned that it is thought the injuries will prove fatal. A band of Mexicans passed through Dayton. They were the toughest ever seen in that part of the country. The town authorities forced them to move on. Where they camped they blocked the road so that pasaero-bv could not travel. A young man on hi« wheel was compelled to stop, when one of the Greaser« took the wheel and started off with it; but three shots from a pistol brought him back, and the wheel was de livered to its owner, who was allowed to pass on.
