Obituary John “Russell” Graham Warrenton Russ Graham died in his sleep March 24 in Portland. He was 71. Russ was born to John and Harriet Gra- ham in Oakland, Calif., on May 19, 1950. He grew up in Hay- ward, Calif., where he attended Tennyson High School. After graduating in 1968, he enlisted in the Navy. He married Darlene Leger in 1969 and the couple had three children during their 16-year marriage. He then married Rebecca Bartruff in Vallejo, Calif., and, with her two daughters, they made a family of seven. The family moved to Salem to be closer to Rebecca’s fam- ily. Russ spent much of his life working as a computer engineer until the recession of 2007 hit and they moved to Astoria to find work. In 2014, Russ retired to Warrenton with his wife of 36 years and his adopt- ed daughter by his side. Russ loved his family with all his heart and was very proud of all of them, family mem- bers say. He was an avid reader and loved watching sci-fi movies and TV shows. He also en- joyed spending time with his grandchildren as much as possible. Russ is survived by his wife, Rebecca; six daughters and stepdaughters, Jenni Lock- wood, Kara DuRée, Cathie Hogan, Joie Bartruff, Ja- nessa, and Debra Damico; a son, Dennis; a sister, Linda Barker; and brother, Glen; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
