Cascadia Chamber Opera
will perform “Don Pasquale”
at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20,
at the Charlene Larsen Cen-
ter for the Performing Arts,
588 16th St., Astoria.
Gaetano Donizetti’s op-
era revolves around Don
Pasquale, a wealthy old man
who decides to marry. His
decision affects those who
could inherit his wealth and
others near him who are in
love.
Singers are Deac Gui-
di, Zachary Lenox, Este-
ban Zuniga, Jocelyn Claire
Thomas, and Maestro Vin-
cent Centeno.

Trail of Tears
topic of talk
A talk on the “Five Civi-
lized Tribes” and the Trail
of Tears is planned for the
next meeting of the Astoria
Chapter of the Daughters of
the American Revolution.
The group meets at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, March 16, at
the Astoria Golf and Country
Club, 33445 Sunset Beach
Road, Warrenton.
The five tribes were the
Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choc-
taw, Creek and Seminole in
Oklahoma as specified by the
Dawes Act of 1887. The talk
will be led by Macy Yates.

Comedy delves
into ‘what is art?’
“Art by Yasmina Reza,” a
serio-comedy directed by
Karen Bain, is the latest of-
fering by the acting troupe
Ten Fifteen Productions.
The play delves into the
question of what comprises
art and individual art prefer-
ences.
There will be six perfor-
mances between Friday,
March 18, and Saturday,
March 26.

Swap your craft
supplies at library
Warrenton Community Li-
brary will have a swap meet
for those who love arts and
crafts from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday, March 11, and 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Participants are urged to
donate their own unused
yarn, fabric, paper, gen-
tly used markers, crayons,
colored pencils, stickers,
sequins, glitter, and other
supplies and then pick up
supplies they can use.
A used book sale will be
held in conjunction with the
craft swap.

for Easter event

volunteers to help hang ban-
ners and facilitate the com-
munity Easter Egg Hunt on
April 9.
