The Columbia Press 8 February 11, 2022 Events Classical piano in concert Feb. 11 “Known, Unknown,” fea- turing classical piano quar- tets by Helene Liebmann and Robert Schumann, is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the Liberty Theatre, 1203 Com- mercial St., Astoria. The event is sponsored by 45th Parallel Universe. Performers include Greg Ewer on violin, Adam Lam- otte on viola, Adaiha Mac- Adam-Somer on cello, and Byron Schenkman on piano. General admission is $25, or $5 for those younger than 18. Tickets can be purchased at libertyastoria.showare.com. Classic ‘60s film featured at Liberty “Valley of the Dolls,” the 1967 film based on Jacque- line Susann’s best-selling novel, will be shown at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Lib- erty Theatre, 1203 Commer- cial St., Astoria. The film stars Patty Duke, Sharon Tate, and Barbara Parkins and chronicles the rise and fall of three young women in show business. The showing is sponsored by the Astoria International Film Festival. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at liber- tyastoria.showare.com. Shop for your love at special market A market for those who are in love is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Pier 39 in Astoria. The Valentine’s Market in- cludes more than 20 local artists and vendors along with some musical entertain- ment in the event space at the north end of the Pier. There is no admission charge. Celebrate women with new band Ashleigh Flynn & The Riv- eters will perform at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Fort George Brewery, 1483 Duane St., Astoria. There is no cover charge, although food and drinks will be available for purchase. Flynn, who grew up in Ken- tucky, specializes in blue- grass, Motown and Amer- icana music.
