John W. Kelley, 42, of Astoria
was arrested on a failure to ap-
pear in court warrant. During a
traffic stop, in which Kelley was
cited for driving while suspend-
ed and having no insurance, it
was discovered he had an out-
standing warrant.

Thefts and burglaries
• Shoplifting, 7:19 p.m. Feb. 23,
Walmart. Taylor B. Whybark,
20, of Ocean Park, Wash., was
cited for third-degree theft
and criminal mischief after he
allegedly attempted to leave the
store without paying for $87 in
merchandise, including LED
lights.
• Theft of propane tank, 2:43
p.m. Feb. 25, 200 block South-
east Anchor Avenue. A man
reported a seven-gallon tank
valued at $150 was taken from
his garage.
• Shoplifting, 2:05 p.m. Feb. 27,
Walmart. Tyler W. Burroughs,
27, of Battle Ground, Wash., was
cited for third-degree theft when
he attempted to leave the store
without paying for a $10 pair of
sunglasses. He was booked at
Clatsop County Jail for an out-
standing warrant from Portland.
• Shoplifting, 5:45 p.m. Feb. 27,
Walmart. A suspect stole a $7

Coast is the only local non-
commercial broadcaster and
operates three stations by re-
lying on funds from the com-
munity.
KMUN-FM is at 91.9 and
considered the flagship sta-
tion after 38 years in Asto-
ria.
Its format includes local
news, public affairs and an
eclectic mix of locally hosted
music shows along with pro-
grams from National Public
Radio and other independent
sources.

Walmart. Tristan S. Fitch, 19, of
Astoria was cited for third-de-
gree theft after he allegedly
attempted to leave the store
without paying for a $70 boxed
DVD set of the “Big Bang Theo-
ry.” He and a companion, Ashley
M. Warden, 20, of Astoria also
were cited for a previous theft of
$109 in groceries alleged to have
occurred on Jan. 31.
• Forgery, 1:27 p.m. March 1,
Costco. The company reported
receiving a counterfeit $50 bill.
• Shoplifting, 7:44 p.m. March
1, Walmart. Bryce A. Fierro, 29,
of Cottage Grove was cited for
third-degree theft and crimi-
nal mischief after he allegedly
attempted to leave the store
without paying for $94 in
merchandise. Police stopped his
vehicle later. He also was cited
for driving while suspended
and having no insurance and
had been trespassed from all
Walmart properties on three
separate occasions.
Suspicious circumstances
and disturbances
• Trespassing, 6:26 p.m. Feb. 26,
in a pasture on Southeast 12th
Place. Logan J. Garner, 35, and
Vanessa L. Garner, 36, were
cited for criminal trespassing on
private property.
• Trespassing, 3:30 p.m. Feb. 28,
Walmart. Woman refusing to
wear a face covering and refus-
ing to leave when store manage-
ment requested. Police told her
she’d be arrested for trespassing
if she didn’t comply, so she left.
• Theft of livestock, 6:27 p.m.
Feb. 27, Southeast 12th Street
and Pacific Drive. Property
owner reports subjects in a black
Subaru are trying to put a calf
on the property into the back of
their vehicle. Animal returned.

Ensign Lane at 19th Street. Drive
cited for driving while suspend-
ed and having no insurance.
• Traffic stop, 4:22 p.m. Feb. 24,
Discovery Lane near Auto Zone.
Jeff B. Bolles, 23, of Astoria
was cited for criminal failure to
carry and present a license and
for driving while suspended and
having no insurance.

Place. Luke T. Miehe, 47, of
Warrenton was cited for crimi-
nal driving while suspended and
failure to carry and present a
license.

Street. Driver cited for having no

• Hit-and-run collision, 9:11 p.m.
Feb. 27, Ridge Road at Ninth
Street. Christopher S. Garrison,
63, of Seaside was arrested on
suspicion of driving under the
influence of intoxicants, reckless
driving and failing to perform
the duties of a driver involved
in a collision. His blood-alco-
hol level was recorded at 0.14
percent.
