A Pendleton man reported the loss of $6,320 in fishing poles, reels and other fishing gear. • Vehicle burglary, 2:30 p.m. Aug. 19, Hammond boat launch. A woman reported someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse, a Taurus 380 hand- gun, cash and an Apple Watch with a total value of $1,679. • Shoplifting, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20, Walmart. Tiffani K. Wetteraver, 45, of Raymond, Wash., was cited for second-degree theft after she allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for $327 in dog food and an air mattress. • Shoplifting, 9:36 p.m. Aug. 21, Walmart. Donovan Whitney West, 41, of Aberdeen, Wash., was cited for second-degree theft, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing after he allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for $434 in car stereos, hunting equipment and a backpack. Mitchell Dean Simonsen, 35, of Hammond was cited for criminal trespassing. • Improper use of 911, 2:40 p.m. Aug. 17, wooded area behind Staples. Male caller stating he wanted to go to the hospital, but refused to give his location or condition. • Illegal campers harassing park ranger, 3:40 p.m. Aug. 19, Indi- an Beach Road, Cannon Beach. • Illegal sales of firewood, 7:19 p.m. Aug. 19, Highway 101 south of Seaside Golf Course. Sub- ject contacted twice for selling firewood illegally on Oregon Department of Forestry prop- erty. He displayed an anti-gov- ernment document he claimed gave his authority to use the location and officers told him they planned to tow his vehicle. He left, but returned 10 minutes later. • Criminal mischief, 8:04 a.m. Aug. 20, 0-100 block Skipanon Drive. Exterior walls were covered in racist graffiti, window screens were thrown into the road, a porta-potty was tipped over and someone defecated in two apart- ments under construction. • Angling violation, 12:49 p.m. Aug. 20, Warrenton. A fish checker discovered an angler with a 21.5-inch chinook salmon; minimum length is 24 inches. Angler was warned and fish con- fiscated and donated to charity. • Two men fighting, 8:31 p.m. Aug. 21, 1400 block Southeast 12th Place. Fred Kelly, 53, of Warrenton was arrested on sus- picion of disorderly conduct. • Misuse of 911, 9:35 a.m. Aug. 22, behind Staples. • Disturbance, 11:57 a.m. Aug. 22, behind Staples. A witness chased down the offending driver. Michael William Stunk- ard, 41, of Astoria was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants and hit-and-run. • Traffic stop, 7 p.m. Aug. 22, Pacific Drive at Jetty Street. Driver cited for driving while suspended. • Fifth-wheel recreational vehicle into light pole, 2:21 p.m. Aug. 23, Fred Meyer parking lot. • Traffic stop, 7:57 a.m. Aug. 25, Marlin Avenue at Dairy Queen. Driver cited for driving while sus- pended and having no insurance. • Disturbance, 12:48 p.m. Aug. 25, Sunset Beach access road.
