29, Walmart. Kaneeya L. Pratt,
31, of Hillsboro was cited for
third-degree theft, criminal
mischief and criminal trespass-
ing after she allegedly attempted
to leave the store without paying
for fishing supplies and other
merchandise.
• Attempted theft, 1:23 p.m. June
30, Fred Meyer. A man in his
30s attempted to take two $200
chain saws, but left them behind
as loss prevention officers began
pursuing him.
• Vehicle burglary, 2:28 a.m. July
2, 600 block Pacific Drive. A
man reported someone entered
his garage, moved fishing rods
and a mountain bike and rifled
through a vehicle.
• Shoplifting, 7:07 p.m. July
2, Walmart. Terry L. Brown
Sr., 57, of Astoria was cited for
second-degree theft and crim-
inal mischief after he allegedly
attempted to leave the store
without paying for $146 in elec-
tronics and batteries.
• Shoplifting, 4:39 p.m. July 3,
Walmart. Shaianna L. Kleweno,
25, of Centralia, Wash., was
cited for second-degree theft
after she allegedly attempted to
leave the store without paying
for $207 worth of flags.
• Shoplifting, 9 p.m. July 4,
Walmart. Nicola M. McKinney,
39, of Portland was cited for
second-degree theft after she
allegedly attempted to leave the
store without paying for $524 in
merchandise, including a vacu-
um cleaner.
• Vehicle theft, 4:08 p.m. July 5,
Fred Meyer parking lot.
• Vehicle burglary, 9:06 p.m. July
5, Hug Point Beach State Park. A
family had multiple items stolen
from their vehicle while it was in
the parking lot.
• Shoplifting, 9:21 p.m. July 5,
Walmart. Janna W. Holmes, 54,
of Couer D’Alene, Idaho, was
cited for second-degree theft
after she allegedly attempted to
leave the store without paying
for $135 in clothes.

Kayaker drowns
in Seaside
The body of a Beaverton
man was pulled from the wa-
ter at the Seaside Estuary on
July 2.
Lloyd Arthur Costello, 55,
appeared to be the victim of
a drowning, according to Sea-
side Police.
Costello had been kayaking
for several hours before his
body was discoved about 3 p.m.
July 1, South Main Avenue at
Third Street. Tara Anne Massey,
34, of Warrenton was arrested
on suspicion of driving under
the influence of intoxicants,
attempting to elude, resisting
arrest, reckless driving and cited
for driving the wrong way on a
one-way street. She was booked
at Clatsop County Jail, where
her blood-alcohol content was
recorded at 0.23 percent.
• Two-vehicle collision, no inju-
ries, 2:54 p.m. July 2, Harbor
Drive near Shilo Inn. One driver
cited for failure to obey a traf-
fic-control device.
• Two-vehicle collision, no inju-
ries, 5:59 p.m. July 2, parking lot
on Ensign Lane.
• Hit-and-run, 8:33 p.m. July 2,
Dollar Tree parking lot.
• Traffic stop, 5:52 a.m. July 3,
Marlin Avenue at Southeast Sev-
enth Street. Christina A. Herzog,
27, no known address, was cited
for criminal failure to carry and
present a license and driving
while suspended.
• Speeding, 12:42 p.m. July
3, Highway 26 near Highway
101 interchange. Joseph Gene
Hubbard, 19, of Albany was cited
for driving 86 in a 55 mph zone
and having no insurance, and
arrested on a warrant from Linn
County and booked at Clatsop
County Jail.
• Speeding, 4:05 p.m. July 3,
Highway 26 at Wunsch Road
near Camp 18. The drivers of
two vehicles traveling togeth-
er, a 29-year-old woman from
Seaside and a 29-year-old man
from Aumsville, were cited for
going 91 mph and 80 mph in a
55 mph zone. Both had suspend-
ed driver’s licenses and neither
had insurance.
• Speeding, 5:20 p.m. July 4,
Highway 101 at Marlin Avenue.
Driver cited for going 60 in a 45
mph zone.
• Impeding traffic, midnight July
4, Highway 30 near Gnat Creek.
Damion R. Nelson, 23, of Port-
land was arrested on two felony
warrants and booked at Clatsop
County Jail.
• Two-vehicle collision, no in-
juries, 3:03 p.m. July 5, Home
