A work party is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Colum- bia River marsh. Digging out iris in vulner- able wetlands is hard work, requiring plenty of bending, and it’s always muddy. But some volunteers claim it’s their favorite stewardship event, the conservancy said. To volunteer, contact Melis- sa Reich at 503-738-9126 and wear rubber boots and gloves. NCLC will provide tools. Par- ticipants should bring drink- ing water and lunch. There are no toilets or potable water on site. Dogs are not allowed.
