A probation officer on her lunch break spotted a want- ed subject in a store, called po- lice and placed the man in hand- cuffs. Benjamin John Bergland, 24, of Astoria was arrested on a felony warrant from Santiam Correctional Institution. • Warrant service, 3:09 a.m. April 19, Highway 104 at Bi-Wa- ter Lane. Tangie Dawn Lyons, 24, of Seaside was cited for third-degree theft after she allegedly attempted to leave the store with $96 in bath tissue and other paper products. • Shoplifting, 5:35 p.m. April 19, Walmart.
