February 16, 2018 T he C olumbia P ress 8 This Weekend ‘ It’s a free-fishing 3-day weekend Fishermen’s crab feed is this Friday, Saturday Deep Sea Fishermen’s Benefit Fund has its annual crab feed this weekend. Dinner, which includes fresh Dungeness crab, coleslaw garlic bread and dessert, is served from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 17, at War- renton Community Center, 170 S.W. Third St. Proceeds benefit the fund, a nonprofit corporation that maintains an emer- gency fund to help fisher- men and their families. This weekend is a free fish- ing weekend. The state Department of Fish and Wildlife determined that Feb. 17-18 would be the first of four free fishing week- ends. The others are June 2-3, Sept. 1-2 and Nov. 23-24. No license, tag or endorse- ment will be required to fish, crab or clam anywhere in Or- egon that’s open to fishing crabbing or clamming. All other regulations apply, in- cluding closures, bag limits and size restrictions. “Free fishing weekends are a great opportunity for friends and families to get out and enjoy a day or two of fishing,” said Mike Gauvin, ODFW recreational fisheries manager. “Winter steelhead, trout, crabbing and clam- ming are just some of the great opportunities avail- able.” Peter Pan is at the ASOC playhouse Astor Street Opry Compa- ny’s musical presentation of “Peter Pan: A Musical Ad- venture” opens this weekend. Shows are 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, February 17, 18, 24, 25 and March 3, 4. Doors opens 30 minutes be- fore each performance. Astor Street Opry Compa- ny is a nonprofit community theater organization and in need of show sponsors. Come Fall in Love with Flamenco Trio performs meditative pieces The Bodhi Trio will per- form at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Liberty The- atre, 1203 Commercial St., Astoria.
