Joseph R. Cox, 48, of Astoria was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after he was accused of returning to the store twice since formally having been trespassed. He was released pending a court hearing. • Man lying on ground, 3:54 p.m. Dec. 30, near Warrenton Fiber logging gate. Keith James Hersey, 40, of Ocean Park, Wash., told officers he was just walking. A background check found he had a warrant out of Clackamas County for robbery and he was booked at Clatsop County Jail. Mitchell Dean Simonsen, 33, of Warrenton was taken into custody after his parole officer was contacted and she placed a detainer hold on him. • Drunken driving, 12:35 a.m. Jan. 1, Southwest Main Court at Southwest Second Street. Adam Lee Taylor, 21, of Warrenton was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants and cited for having no operator’s license. He was booked at Clatsop County Jail, where his blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.19 percent. t hefts /B urglarIes • Money taken, 11:10 a.m. Dec. 30, 100 block South Highway 101. Woman told police she’d forgotten her wallet at a business and when she returned to pick it up, the cash was missing. The business told police the wallet was found outside and brought in by a transient. • Burglary in progress, 9:04 p.m. Road Work • ODOT crews will perform maintenance on Highway 30 at the east end of Astoria during the next two weeks. The west- bound lane will be closed with flaggers controlling traffic. • County work crews will do ditch maintenance on Lewis and Clark Road and chopping brush on Highlands Lane and Fort Clat- sop Road near Astoria. • Malicious mischief, 12:10 p.m. Dec. 29, 0-100 block Heron Drive. Vandals threw rocks through two double-paned win- dows on a storage building. • Subjects dumping residential trash into the business’s com- mercial bin, 3:11 p.m. Dec. 30, 1400 block Discovery Lane.
