Anthony Lakes Moun- tain Resort will open Satur- day, Dec. 21. The day will feature live music, a visit by Santa and Eastern Oregon skiing and riding. Anthony Lakes relies on 100% natural snow- fall, so skiers and riders are reminded to use caution as early season conditions exist. Groomed runs will include Broadway, Variety, Vista and Road Run, as well as the Lake Loop, Camp- ground Loop, Gunsight, College, College Extension and the Training Loop on the Nordic side. Season passes will be available to pick up start- ing at 8 a.m. upstairs in the Main Lodge. Tickets will be available for sale at the ticket booth starting at 8:30 a.m. The Handletow, Magic Car- pet and Rock Garden Chair will turn at 9 a.m. All lodge amenities will be open. The ski area will oper- ate daily through Jan. 5. Anthony Lakes closes early at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve ($5 off lift tickets) and is closed Christmas Day. Our new office hours are: Mendy Sharpe FNP 7:30-5 Monday through Thursday, open through the lunch hour and 8-12 Friday You can also visit our new property search online at grantcountyoregon.net S160277-1 The Dayville/Monu- ment Tiger girls split wins at Friday-Saturday Arling- ton Snowball Tournament after their loss on Dec. 12, 43-22 to the Condon/ Wheeler Blue Devils. “We did not play to our full potential, and it came down to basics,” said head coach Cheyenne Perkins about the game against Condon/Wheeler. “We were not shooting enough, not getting the rebounds and Condon/Wheeler shot the ball really well.” For their game on Fri- day against the Ione/ Arlington Cardinals, the team had to make a lot of position adjustments due to a minor injury to Aubrey Bowlus, who is the starting point. “This is something that every player will have to deal with on a team,” said Perkins. “I was proud of how they adjusted with a key player out of the game.” While the Tiger girls fell 18-52 to the Cardinals on Friday, they came back with a 43-20 win over the Stanfield JV team on Saturday.
