Grant Union FFA chapter members assist food bank Blue Mountain Eagle Grant Union FFA chap- ter members played a big role in helping curb hun- ger in Grant County during the month of October as they participated in Oregon FFA’s Drive Away Hunger initiative. Oregon FFA officials recently announced that statewide the FFA orga- nizations raised a total of 342,420 meals that will be given to those in need. The Grant Union chap- ter worked together to col- lect bags inserted in the Blue Mountain Eagle and Captial Press newspapers. Food was also collected at Les Schwab Tires Center in John Day. Grant Union FFA ad- viser Adam Ineck said he was thankful for all the cooperating partners and all who donated to the cause. “Together we donat- ed and collected just over 1,100 pounds of food this year that we delivered di- rectly to the Grant Coun- ty Food Bank,” he said. “This is a great example of our members living the last line of our FFA motto, ‘Living to Serve.’” ‘Christmas 1918’ concert — postponed The Grant County Youth Arts Program and the Juniper Arts Council have postponed the fall 2018 YAP concert.
