A2 Family Blue Mountain Eagle Wednesday, December 5, 2018 O BITUARIES OTEC Youth Tour and scholarship applications available Blue Mountain Eagle Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative is seeking member applicants for academic, trade school and lineman college schol- arships and the Washington, D.C., Youth Tour. High school students, returning stu- dents and adults entering educational and technical programs can apply for OTEC’s annual scholarship program, which has 26 academic scholarships, four trade school scholarships and two linemen scholar- ships. Each scholarship is $5,000, and 10 of the 26 academic scholarships are earmarked for returning college students. Trade school scholarships are $2,500. Current high school students in their junior year can apply for a one-week, all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, Michael ‘Mike’ Gordon Steele D.C., to celebrate the 2019 Rural Elec- tric Cooperative Youth Tour from June 14-20. Applications are available at otecc. com. The scholarships are for OTEC members and their dependents. The deadline for academic, trade school and lineman scholarships is Feb. 1. Youth Tour applications are due Jan. 25. Prairie City basket program receives large food donation Blue Mountain Eagle Prairie City High School seniors Syd Holman, Deja Amsden and Jonathan Lawrence and their senior adviser Billy ed, the students received a fresh-baked cookie. Holman spearheaded the col- lection efforts as part of his senior proj- ect, stating he wanted to make people smile. Colson delivered 625 food items collect- ed by Prairie City students to the 2018 Prairie City Fire Department Christmas Basket Program. For every two items of food donat- Bazaars usher in holiday season Michael “Mike” Gordon Steele, 77, of McCall, Idaho, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, at a hospital in Boise, Idaho. Arrangements have been entrusted to All Valley Cremation in Nampa, Idaho. Zella P. Arment Fleury Street Feb. 11, 1934 - Nov. 16, 2018 Zella P. Arment Fleury Street, 84, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, in Hines, Oregon. Zella was born Feb. 11, 1934, in Gordon, Nebraska, to Orin Arment and Esther (Madison) Arment. Later in life she moved to Payette, Idaho. Then she moved to Seneca, Oregon, where she met Glen Fleury; they had six children. After leaving Seneca, Zella met and married her second husband, James (Willard) Street. They moved to Roseburg, Oregon, until Willard’s death in 2007. In 2009, Zella moved to Burns, where she had lived out at As- pen for the last few years, which she called home. She met sever- al wonderful people she called friends. Zella enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, canning fruits and vegetables and gardening; she always had a beautiful rose garden. She also enjoyed play- ing bingo, card games, puzzle books, crosswords and collecting frogs. Zella is survived by five children, daughters Rose Delap (Chris), Carrie Burgess (Smokey) and Glena Whiteaker and sons Danny Fleury (Jeannie) and Dean Fleury; her brother Joe Arment; grandchildren Sherry, Sabrina, Traci, Tommy, Ashley, Andrea, Rachel, Cristina, Tim, Chad, Shannon, Janda, Casey, Trisha, Stephen, Hailey and Felisha; many great-grandchil- dren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Zella was preceded in death by her parents, Orin and Es- ther Arment; brother John Arment; husband, James (Willard) Street; daughter Cathy Ebarb; grandson Glen Long; and son-in- law Doug Whiteaker. At Zella’s request, she will be cremated, and a family and friends gathering will be held at a later date. LaFollette’s Chapel is in charge of arrangements. About Obituaries 90616 26559 Sat.
