Budgeting and credit repair workshop
Timber Truckers Light Parade
• 6-7 p.m., Grant County Extension classroom
The free financial workshop teaches how and why to build
a personal budget and how to use a “credit repair toolbox.” For

The parade theme this year is “Tis the Night Before Christ-
mas.” The entry fee is $10. Winners will be announced at the Elks
Lodge following the parade. Registration is from 3-5:30 p.m. at

Women’s Advent mini-retreat

The Blue Mountain Care Center will host a Christmas party for
their residents and their families followed by a silent dessert auc-
tion to raise money for the resident council fund. Refreshments and

Cancer research benefit dinner

There will be a benefit dinner to support gastrointestinal stro-
mal tumor cancer research. There will be two dinner times at 4:30
p.m. and 6 p.m. The cost is $15 for singles, $25 for couples and $7

large variety of items — mostly handcrafted — with soup and

Holiday bazaar
Senior advisory council semi-annual meeting
• 11 a.m., John Day Senior Center
Grant County Senior Citizens Advisory Council will host its
semi-annual meeting to introduce new members of the council
appointed by the Grant County Court, review current bylaws
• 7 p.m., John Day United Methodist Church
The Grant County Youth Arts Program and the Juniper Arts
Council will present the fall 2018 YAP concert including three
choirs, an orchestra, choir chimes, two guitar classes and mul-
tiple soloists performing music from the World War I era. A
dessert reception provided by the church will follow. Admis-
sion is free. Donations are welcome. Photographs from World
War I will be available for viewing before and after the concert.

Carrie Young Memorial dinner and auction

Winter Wonderland dance recital

Dancers from age 4 through seventh grade, including levels 1,
2 and 3, will perform dance routines, including solos, duets, and
trios as well as group routines. Admission is $2 per person at the
door. Children 6 and under are free. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the

Winter bazaar

The sixth annual winter bazaar features homemade decor,
beauty products, food and accessories. The 4-H club will be serv-
