Sports Blue Mountain Eagle WRESTLING Results Continued from Page B1 Harvey (182), who finished the day 3-1. “We had a pret- ty good turnout on the num- ber of teams that showed up today.” Grant Union head coach Andy Lusco said the tournament ran smoothly. “They’ve wrestled pretty well,” he said of his team. “We had tough com- petition, and a lot of first- time wrestlers got their first matches in.” The coach said he was impressed with senior Elijah Humbird’s perfor- mance. “(He) wrestled up to heavyweight and wrestled very well, only losing to Drew,” he said. He said the home invi- tational will be a benefit as they continue on with the season, including increas- ing their endurance. “We’re making im- provements,” he said. Eleven Grant Union wrestlers traveled to Hep- pner Saturday for the Bank of Eastern Oregon Tourna- ment, where they finished fifth. Coach Lusco said it was a small tournament because of conflicts with other tournaments. He said nearly all the Grant Union wrestlers won a match, and most won multiple matches against quality competitors. “Ben Henry has really improved and won three matches,” he added. “Rus- sell Hodge and Cameron Hallgarth had particularly tough brackets and wres- tled very hard.” Grant Union hosted Burns and Crane for a dual meet on Tuesday, past press time, and they trav- el to Halfway for the Pine Eagle tournament set for 10 a.m. Saturday. The district tourna- ment is scheduled for Fri- day-Saturday, Feb. 2-3 in Imbler.
