PRESERVED FOODS
All items must be canned since incumbent or
previous year.. Limit of 40 entries per department
per exhibitor. Canned entry is 1 jar per lot unless
noted. Standard jars must be used for all classes,
including jams and jellies. If not in standard jars,
exhibit will not be judged. Mayonnaise jars are not
acceptable.
Jars must be clean under the ring.
Judges reserve the right to open any and all
exhibits.
Jams and jellies with paraffin will not be judged.
Jars must be labeled with the following label.

Fresh Preserving Products is proud to recognize Adult &
Youth fresh preserving (canning) enthusuasts.
Judges will select a 1st & 2nd place from the Adult en-
tries for Fuit, vegetable, pickle and soft spread categories
and a 1st place only from the youth entries in the same
categories. Entries must be preserved in Ball® Jars sealed with Ball® Lids and Bands, or
Ball® Collection Elite® Jars sealed with Collection Elite® Lids and Bands, or preserved in
Kerr® Jars sealed with Kerr® Lids and Bands. In addition, soft spread entries must be pre-
pared using Ball® Pectin: Original, No Sugar Needed or Liquid. Proof of purchase for Ball®
pectin is required at time of entry.
Adult first place from each category will receive: Two (2) five-dollar ($5) coupons for
Ball® or Kerr® Fresh Preserving Products and one (1) free (up to $5 value) coupon for
Ball® Pectin. Adult second place from each category will receive: One (1) five-dollar ($5)
coupon for Ball® or Kerr® Fresh Preserving Products and one (1) free (up to $5 value)
coupon for Ball® Pectin.
Youth first place from each category will receive: One (1) five-dollar ($5) coupon for
Ball® or Kerr® Fresh Preserving Products and one (1) free (up to $5 value) coupon for
Ball® Pectin.
