Greater Prairie City Community Association
Established in 1997
• Financially sponsored a Prairie City High School student to
serve as State President of the Future Farmers of America
(FFA) organization
Our Vision: In 2014, the Greater Prairie City Community
Association (GPCCA) successfully negotiated a historic
donation of this church property from the Oregon-Idaho
Conference United Methodist Church. The former church
currently hosts family events, entertainment, classes, and
workshops. Now it’s time to renew the facility for our new
community center--an anchor for our social, cultural,
entertainment, and educational activities.
• Financially sponsored six Prairie City High School students
to attend the national Family Career Community Leaders
of America convention, where all six members attending
achieved gold medals in judged competition (no other
school attained this distinction)
Our Project: GPCCA plans to raise $250,000 immediately and
over the next three to five years (2015-2020) to remodel and
upgrade the existing church building to be more energy
efficient, while meeting our community’s needs and having
the kitchen certified by 2016.
• Invested in the purchase of a new glass crusher, improving
safety, for the Prairie City Recycling Center
Who We Are: The GPCCA is a group of local business owners
and community members who work to enhance the livability
and economic well-being for the 1,100 residents of Prairie
City. We sponsor events and activities that enhance the
livability, visual presentation, economic well-being,
participation of volunteers, and development of community
leaders in Prairie City.
• Organized, sponsored, and carried out a scrap metal drive
for the beautification of Prairie City and surrounding areas
• Provided $10,000 toward the construction of Prairie City
Park Restrooms through a successful grant application
• Financially supported and provided volunteers to the
Oregon Solutions landscaping and painting of the Prairie
City School
• Financially sponsored a Prairie City High School student to
attend the Youth Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C.
• Financially sponsored Talents & Treasures and supported
HOWDY Town and Camp Logan
• Established a community lending library for leadership,
community development, fund raising and other resource
assistance for non-profits and community groups
Proudly sponsored by:
Dr. Norm DeJong, DDS and GPCCA
