GIVING BACK | 21 November 2015 Greater Prairie City Community Association Established in 1997 • Financially sponsored a Prairie City High School student to serve as State President of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization Our Vision: In 2014, the Greater Prairie City Community Association (GPCCA) successfully negotiated a historic donation of this church property from the Oregon-Idaho Conference United Methodist Church. The former church currently hosts family events, entertainment, classes, and workshops. Now it’s time to renew the facility for our new community center--an anchor for our social, cultural, entertainment, and educational activities. • Financially sponsored six Prairie City High School students to attend the national Family Career Community Leaders of America convention, where all six members attending achieved gold medals in judged competition (no other school attained this distinction) Our Project: GPCCA plans to raise $250,000 immediately and over the next three to five years (2015-2020) to remodel and upgrade the existing church building to be more energy efficient, while meeting our community’s needs and having the kitchen certified by 2016. • Invested in the purchase of a new glass crusher, improving safety, for the Prairie City Recycling Center Who We Are: The GPCCA is a group of local business owners and community members who work to enhance the livability and economic well-being for the 1,100 residents of Prairie City.
