PREMIUMS OPEN CLASS EXHIBIT ENTRY DATES, TIMES, PREMIUMS & AWARDS New Open Class Entry Dates and Times: Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 from 3 - 7 PM receive all exhibits EXCEPT - Fruit, vegetables & flowers. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 - receive ALL exhibits 7 AM - 11 AM (Fruits and Vegetables and Flowers will be ac- cepted only on Wednesday.) Entries will not be accepted after 11 AM Tuesday, August 4. NO EXCEPTIONS. 1. Premiums will be paid for 1st and 2nd place and many special award cash and ribbons will be given. 2. For display purposes 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbon emblems may be used, but the equivalent genuine ribbon may be obtained when exhibits are picked up. 3. All Small Animal and Livestock MUST PREREGISTER by July. 20, 2015. General Rules & Regulations 1. The general supervision of the grounds and entire exhibition including entries, booths, con- cessions, arrangements of exhibits, and all de- tails are invested in the Grant County Fair Board. 2. Every animal or article entered for competi- tion must be raised or made by the person listed on the entry form. Persons trying to deceive the committee in regard to ownership of articles or animals, or who shall purchase or borrow and then exhibit them as raising or manufacturing their own, shall forfeit all claims for premiums. 3. On the entry of each animal or article, a card will be furnished to each exhibitor specify- ing the class, number and entry. Said card to remain attached to such animal or articles during exhibition. Refer to each department for specific rules. 4. All exhibits will be under the direction and control of the Grant County Fair Board, however, the Fair Board will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. Each ex- hibitor will be solely responsible for any conse- quential or other loss, injury or damage done to or occasioned by or arising out of or connected with or incidental to the Grant County Fair. 5. The Grant County Fair Board reserves the final and absolute right to alter, interpret, or change these rules and regulations as may be necessary. Also to arbitrarily settle and determine all matters, questions or differences in regard thereto or otherwise arising out of or connected with or incidental to the Grant County Fair. 6. Exhibitors of animals, machinery in motion and other exhibits liable to occasional accidents, injury or damage to persons coming in contact with them shall guard their exhibits and protect the public coming in contact therewith, and every exhibitor by exhibiting during the Fair agrees that he will indemnify the association from and a- gainst any claim or demand, cost, charges and expenses which the association may incur, suffer or be put to be reason of any accident or any person being injured or suffering damage through or by reason of such exhibit not being properly guarded or the public not being protect- ed and that he will upon demand, reimburse the PAGE 44 ★ GRANT COUNTY FAIR ★ 2015 Fair Association for any such sums it may have been compelled to expend by reason of such claims, expenses or charges. 7. Under no circumstances will articles be al- lowed which are offensive by reason of their odor or appearance, which are dangerous by reason of their exposure or combustible charac- ter or which cause loud noise sufficient to be dis- tracting or disturbing to fairgoers or nearby booths or exhibitors. If any such article or exhibit be allowed admission through misrepresentation or otherwise, such articles and persons respon- sible may be removed by order of the Fair Board. 8. The Fair Board reserves the right to order the elimination or reduction of noise as required to protect fairgoers or nearby booths or ex- hibitors. 9. All protests regarding the judging must be made in writing and be accompanied by a de- posit of $25.00 in cash, which will be forfeited if protest is not sustained. Such protests must state plainly the cause of complaint or appeal and must be filed with the management within 24 hours after cause of protest. No complaint or appeal, based upon the statement that the judge or judges are incompetent or have overlooked an animal or article in any class will be considered. 10. An error in the record of premiums award- ed caused by oversight or neglect on the part of the Superintendent or Judges shall be subject to correction by the Fair Board. 11. Judging of all exhibits will be according to the numerical system unless otherwise stated. No placing will be made unless in the opinion of the Judge the exhibit warrants the placing. There will be no more than one first and second award in any one lot. The judge’s decision is final. 12. The Grant County Fair Board reserves the right to distribute available funds to exhibitors on a proportionate basis in the event funds are not sufficient to cover all premiums. No premiums will be paid on any exhibit unless it is properly entered and tagged. 13. Exhibit premium payouts released between 8 a.m. and NOON on Sunday of Fair unless prior arrangements are made. Items left over 14 days will be disposed of at the discretion of the Fair unless prior arrangements have been made. 14. All premium, award cash, or prize money must be picked up by the second to the last Monday in August or it will be forfeited. No pre- miums, award cash or prize money will be mailed. 15. Persons involved in the management of the Fair or employees of the Fair are not prohibit- ed from entering competition but rather are en- couraged to do so in support of the Fair. 16. No dogs or other pets are allowed on the Fairgrounds except for guide or dogs trained to help disabled people and dogs entered for show or demonstration. 17. No bikes, skateboards, scooters, or mopeds will be allowed on the Fairgrounds during Fair. Horses are to be kept in arena area only. 18. No roving vendor or solicitor, acting whether for profit or non-profit organizations, or on his own behalf, shall be permitted on the Fairgrounds without prior consent of the Fair Manager. 19. The Fair Board & Manager have the right under Oregon Revised Statute #565.240 to evict anyone who is creating a disturbance or ob- structing the orderly progress of the Fair. 20. The Fair is for the benefit of the public and all are asked to cooperate in making it a success. Fair patrons are asked to patronize the business firms who sponsor the pages in the premium book and maintain booths at the Fair. 21. Special awards donated by merchants, in- dividuals, and organizations are a valuable added incentive for our participants. Donators of awards appreciate acknowledgment. Please make a point to thank them. 22. Premiums will be paid to Grant County ex- hibitors only. Non-county residents are display only, other than livestock classes. 23. Reserved parking in some portions of the camp area to the North of the Heritage Barn will be in effect. Those parking in a reserved spot without authorization WILL BE TOWED. 24. Smoking in designated areas ONLY. With the exception of pies, all exhibits remain on display for the dura- tion of the fair. All exhibits with multiple items need to be of uniform size, shape and color.
