It has been pretty warm and delight- fully beautiful. The flow- ers and other living things are blooming and active. A hummingbird whizzed by my head the other day. I guess they are back from their migration. So much to do around here! Love the sun still being out at 7 p.m. My boy complained to me, though, that it wasn’t right for him to go to sleep at 8:30 p.m. because the sun was still out and bright. I might have to put up my blackout curtains, another task to add to a never end- ing and seemingly long list of things to do. Where does the time go? I remember as a kid, think- ing “It’s going to take for- ever for me to grow up! Time sure goes very slow!” Now my life just seems like it’s on full speed ahead and not slow- ing down anytime soon. We had quite a few vis- itors join us on April 28 – Dick and Pam Wanous, and Frank and Melba Cecil, all from Spray, and Bodean An- derson’s grandkids and great grandkids, Shannon Ander- son, Cole, Garret and Jayden, from Alaska. Our greeters were Bob Blakeslee, Bodean Anderson and Marva Walker. Bob led WKH ÀDJ VDOXWH DQG %RGH- an prayed the blessing over our meal. Frances Arneson won the Chester’s Thriftway gift card, Gary Doland won the Len’s Drug gift card and Melba Cecil won a free meal. Our hardworking cooks made some fabulous baked chick- en, mashed potatoes and gra- vy, green beans, bread rolls, and some moist cake. If you weren’t there, you missed out. We had 60 attendees and sev- en take-outs. I wish I was a better orga- nized and disciplined person. I guess most free-spirited peo- ple are that way. An example: I was doing well balancing my checkbook until I got be- hind. I got so frustrated I went to the bank and told them they needed to close my account so I could open a new one and start fresh! They wanted me to bring in all my statements so they could help me. I insist- ed they couldn’t and frankly, I didn’t have all my statements anyway or know where they ZHUH7KH\¿QDOO\JUDQWHGP\ request, closed the account and gave me a new one. I’m sure they must have thought I was crazy. I really think it’s because we aren’t taught to balance RXU¿QDQFHVLQVFKRROV/RRN at our national debt. Our country is in dire straits be- cause we don’t know how to balance our budget. Too bad we, as a nation, can’t say to close the account and start fresh!
