Snowy Easter
sunrise service
Blue Mountain Eagle
Snowy weather was no obstacle for the faithful, as worshipers of all ages turn
out for the Easter Sunrise Service on Airport Road.
JOHN DAY – Any good intentions of wearing your “Sun-
day best” or donning Easter bonnets was cast aside at this
year’s Easter Sunrise Service.
Even with heavy, wet snow falling, about 60 determined
worshipers – bundled in winter gear and blankets – braved
the elements for the April 5 early morning service in the Crisp
Heights area, off Airport Road in John Day.
'HDFRQ%LOO*XUQH\IURPWKH(XJHQH6SULQJ¿HOGDUHDSUH-
sented the message, “Jesus: The Model of Power.”
The John Day Church of Nazarene worship team members,
Eric and Jamie Lupien, associate pastor Brad Williamson, and
his daughter, Kaitlyn, presented the hymns, “Joyful, Joyful,
We Adore Thee” and “He Lives.”
Most of those attending also enjoyed a complimentary
breakfast afterward at First Christian Church. Donations to-

The event was organized by the Grant County Ministerial
