The Rotarian Male Quartet Makes Good The Rotarian Male Quartet, of Portland, made the best impres sion and' received 'the"most en thusiast ie reception of any musi cal aggregation ever appearing l in Burns. The program ut Tonn Wama la i night was so genuine ly npnn clattd that it is expected the linn i will be packed tonight, espi cialu when it becomesknown the quart) t is going to render some of the very popular num bers, among them being Buck's "Annie Laurie" and Nevin's The Rosary." The qurtrtet found they could meet their next engagement at l,alu vie w li remaining over un til tomorrow, and upon learning Of the spelling contest, which is responsible for many being in that would not otherwise be able to hear them, it was decided to give a second performance with a change of program. This is one of the best balanced quartets the writer has had the pleasure of hearing and each number was generously received. The program was varied to such an extent that nil present found something to their particular lik ing. Some of the numbers were of a high class but the more pop ular music was what the great majority of the audience seemed to want Every number was ap plauded and they had to return repeatedly after each in response encores. Mr. Brown, the second tenor, had toresjwnd the seventh time in his pianologues. They were very clever and original.
