Whether they are di seased and are going as the peBtB have in the past is yet to be de termined. They are dying over in the Warm Springs district and Mrs. Win. Political Speaking. Hon. K. A. Booth, republican canditate for U. S. Senator, was the principal speaker at a politi cal meeting held at the Tonawa ma last Saturday evening. Mr. Booth mads a nice talk and im pressed his hearers as a man who would represent this state with credit. He did not abuse anyone and his talk throughout was schol arly and impressive. Mr. Booth has long been identified with the public of Oregon and therefore is in sympathy with the advance ment and prosperity of the coun try. He has confined his activi ty so for to the western part of the state where he has resided and while he was familiar to some extent with the eastern part of the state he was hardly prepared to find the great devel opment going on and the great possibilities when we are proper ly served by transportation. Judge (Irant Thompson pre sided at the meeting and the local speakers were Hon. Frank Davey and Ceo. W. Young. There were not many present owing to the weather being quite warm and many are out of town on their vacations or helping in harvest. ADDITIONAL LOCALS. It's good weather for corn. A. H.
