PAGE 26 • TV THE BULLETIN • OCTOBER 21 - 27, 2021 What’s Available NOW On “Movie: Dream Horse” “Movie: Come Away” From Great Britain comes this 2020 comedy-drama, a fictionalized version of Louise Osmond’s 2015 documentary “Dark Horse,” about poor Welsh villagers who pool their money to bankroll a race horse bred by a local bartender (Toni Collette). Damian Lewis, Owen Teale, Joanna Page and Karl Johnson are also in the cast for director Euros Lyn (“The Library Suicides”). An origin story of Peter Pan and Alice from “Alice in Wonderland,” this 2020 fantasy makes them siblings who venture to London to sell a treasured heirloom. But on the way home, Alice (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) seeks refuge in a wondrous rabbit hole while Peter (Jordan A. Nash) enters a magical realm as leader of the Lost Boys. Angelina Jolie, Michael Caine, David Oyelowo and Anna Chancellor also star. BY JAY BOBBIN Checking in with DAVID BOREANAZ “Movie: Maybe Next Year” “Movie: For Madmen Only” The Philadelphia Eagles’ improbable run to Super Bowl LII and the championship of the 2017 season is told from the perspective of the team’s passionate and die-hard fans in this entertaining and surprisingly moving 2019 documentary from filmmakers (and Philly natives) Kyle Thrash (“Off Campus”) and Jenifer Westphal (“Where’s My Roy Cohn?”). Director Heather Ross’ (“Girls on the Wall”) 2021 documentary looks back at the life and career of Del Close, an influential 20th century improv comic, actor and coach who nurtured the talents of current-day performers such as Tim Meadows, Ike Barinholtz, Bob Odenkirk and Adam McKay, all of whom appear here. With “SEAL Team” about to make a big move, David Boreanaz is excited about the prospects that lie ahead for the show. The adventure-drama series recently started its fifth season Sundays on CBS, but after its Oct. 31 airing, it will become exclusive to Paramount+ beginning with the following episode debuting there the next day. Star, executive producer and sometimes director Boreanaz says he’s looking forward to adding streaming-appropriate layers to his elite-military-team-leader character, Jason Hayes. “He’s gone through some relationships and just tries to navigate that in his life, along with the demands of his job,” the performer reasons. “He realizes that’s not so easy, and we see how that unfolds in the first few episodes of this season. It’s daunting for him.” While Boreanaz hopes “SEAL Team” retains the fan base that has gotten it to a fifth year, he understands viewers’ possible hesitancy about having to subscribe to continue to watch it. “I highly respect that some people don’t want to sign up for something, but I will say that for our show, it will be an exciting run there in regard to the storytelling and how much deeper we can go into the characters.” Though a streaming platform will loosen the restrictions that have been on “SEAL Team” in its broadcast-network life, Boreanaz notes, “You have a responsibility to show what these men and women go through. We’re being a little more honest and truthful with what they face when they come home, and how they deal with things like mental illness and PTSD. There’s a balancing act, but I feel we’re being given more to really justify these characters.” Birthdate: May 16, 1969 Birthplace: Buffalo, N.Y.
