Many activities pack schedule for annual Jefferson County Fair

the fair Saturday and Sunday.

Fair acti itius opened Tuesday
with the annual style review and
varied 4-H and FKA contests oc
cupied the fair activities building
up to the weekend festivities.

sor a Halter Class Horse Show
with trophies awarded the best
entries in Appaloosa, Arabian
quarter horse, Tennessee Walker
and unregistered light breeds div
ision. The halter class show will
get underway at 7:30 a.m. and
conclude about noon to be follow
ed by the final performance of
the rodeo.
Throughout the fair the best of
Jefferson County's produce and
4-H projects will be on display.

V. Hansberger, president of Boise
Cascade Carp,, Boise, Idaho, dis
closed Tuesday that terms have
been negotiated with Crown Zell
erbach Corp. for the purchase of
St. Helena Pulp Paper Co. In
Oregon.
Hansbergcr said the proposal
now is before the Federal Trade
Commission and his company
will pay $30 million for the
"package," which excludes some
timber lands and equipment.
