Jeffrey Stephen Ward (Denise Kay Cypcar) will be at home this weekend at 908 SW Gaines, Portland, following a honeymoon trip to San Francisco, Lake Tahoo and Las Vegas. -The wedding took place Satur day, August 3, in the Wesley Cha pel of the First Methodist Church u Eugene. Sixty members of the class were registered, a number of them accompanied by their fam ilies. A buffet supper Saturday night at the Bend Golf Club was at tended by 105. A buckaroo break' fast wbs held Sunday morning at tho Rim Rock Riders clubhouse, with 100 present. Robert S. Johnson of Bend, who was vice-president of the class. was master of ceremonies at the dinner. Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Jewell and Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Stover. Jewell superintendent of the Bend Pub lic Schools, was a member of the high school faculty in 1933, as was his wife, the former Miss Jane Gibbs. Stover was 1933 class dad. Dixon D. July building figures given Dollar volume for building In Bend in July totaled $136,920, or $210,759 below last year's July figure ot $347,679. Most costly single building proj ect was a new store building for Montgomery-Ward costing $34,- 095. Miscellaneous building ex penses for eight projects ware re corded at $55,895. Other building costs were $48, 500 for new dwellings, $19,025 for dwelling alterations, $2,900 for new garages and $600 for non- dwelling alterations. New general agent named Appointment of a new general agent for Deschutes, Crook, Jef ferson and Lane Counties has been announced by Mutual of Omaha and United of Omaha. He is Ed ward F. Ruckwardt, formerly a field trainer for his companies in Butte, Mont., and has represent ed the companies for the past 10 years. The E. F. Ruciwardt Genoral Agency is responsible for all sales activities for the companies in the four counties. Main offices for the operation are at 254 East 17th Street, Eugene. Bail forfeitures are reported Ball totaling $145 was forfeited Monday in Deschutes County Dis trict Court by five persons who had been arrested for traffic vio lations. Moore attends brother's wake Alfred Moore, 1374 Baltimore Avenue, has just returned from Chico, Calif., where he attended the funeral of his brother, Rob ert, on Monday. Robert Moore, an early - day Bend resident, was killed last week in an automobile accident on the Oregon coast He was 77. In addition to his brother in Bend, he leaves another brother, Forrest B. (Loy Studio photo) Buell arrives home to spend 30-day leave Special to The Bulletin SISTERS James Buell, Air man 2nd Class, arrived Friday from Travis Air Force Base in California to spend a 30-day leave Visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Buell. This is the first leave James has had to spend at home in over a year. Visitors Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Ludwlg were his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Ludwig of Washougal, Wash. Mrs. Helen Bilodeau of Dubois, Wyo., spent last week at the home of her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Hammack. On Sunday, the Hammacks took her to Bend where she is visiting an other daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Harper. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Phillips were their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Phillips and daugh ter, Marcy, of Madras. Return Home Mrs. Loyd Hewitt and daughter, Sara, and Cynthia Eastman re turned home Saturday after spending a week at Wynema on the coast, where they attended a Christian High School camp. Loyd Hewitt drove to Wynema to bring them home. Mrs. Ellen Knight of Greens boro, N.C., Mrs. Bob Hatherill and children of Prineville, Mrs. Bob Wakefield and family of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Con Peoples of Bend, and Mrs. Tillie Wilson were lunch eon guests Thursday at the home of Mrs. George Wakefield. Mr. and Mrs. Benton Buell and children of San Diego, Calif., ar rived Sunday from San Diego, Calif., to spend the week visiting his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Buell. It was the first time since 1948 that the brothers had been together. Bonnie Hewitt returned home Saturday after spending the week visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Hewitt in Redmond. Viiit Reported Mrs. Don Trushiem who is spending the summer with her husband at the lookout at Jerro Butte out of Prineville, visited over the weekend with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Charlotte Hoke. Guests on Friday and Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Wakefield were his niece and nephew, Ruth and Wayne Wakefield of Tacoma, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Carl South of Mon mouth were visitors Saturday aft ernoon at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Laura Zumwalt. The Souths had come to attend the reunion of the graduating class of 1934 which was held in Bend over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jacobsen. daughters, Dixie and Darla, and son, Royal Lane, made the trip to Creswell on Saturday to attend the annual picnic given by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holt at their farm. Ltchner, son of Mrs. Pearl Lechner, LaPine, has been graduated from Aviation Maintenance School at Fort Ruck er, Ala., and has been assigned to the Fourth Aviation Company, Fourth Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash. Lechner is a for mer Bend High School student and a 1962 graduate of Lowell High School. He enlisted in the Army in March, 1963. Duplicate bridge play will be held tonight in the basement of the Elks Temple, starting at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Jack Davis and Mrs. F. O. Garrigus will be Jay cee Auxiliary hostesses for cof fee. Suther land, 124 Hawthorne Avenue, are Cadet Robert B. Sutherland and Miss Barbara Sutherland. Suther land has been here four weeks and will return soon to the U.S. Air Force Academy near Colora do Springs, Colo., for his second year as a student. Miss Suther land, a registered nurse, is on vacation. She lives in Portland and travels in Oregon and west ern Washington with the Red Cross Bloodmobile. Band Rebekah Lodge will hold a regular meeting Friday, August 9, at 8 p.m. at the IOOF Temple. Mrs. Vivian Hanson will show col or slides of her summer vacation trip to New York City and his torical points in the eastern Uni ted States. She and Mrs. Del Mattson will serve refreshments. Richard Hllgeri, an electric ian's mate in the U.S. Navy, has returned to San Francisco to board the USS Brister, to await departure to Guam. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hilgers, 1547 W. Seventh Street He spent two weeks in Bend visiting rela tives and friends, after complet ing four months training at Great group of the work at the orphan age in Korea. He told of the needs and expressed appreciation for the help being given. Carolyn Still, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cole Still of Prineville, is the younger half of a sister sister combination on the Crook ed River Roundup Court. A 1962 graduate of Crook County High School, she is presently attending Eugene Beauty College. In rodeo competition, she will ride "Red," a half morgan and a half thoroughbred. Carolyn has an extensive background in horse manship. She was all-around cowgirl and queen of the Redmond Junior Ro deo in 1959. Carolyn was a prin cess of the Crooked River Round up in 1960. As a member of the Prineville Ridge Riders, she has won many ribbons and three tro phies in Central Oregon Saddle Club Association competition. The active girl enjoys sewing, and water skiing in her sapre time. Red is her favorite color in clothes and her culinary weak ness is corn on the cob. Nineteen year old Kay Norton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parr Norton of Ashwood, is also vis ing for rodeo queen. She will ride her quarter horse, Pete, in com petition. The rodeo arena is already very familiar to the young horsewom an. Presently she is Miss Nation al Rodeo Association for 1963. In 1955-56-57, she was champion jun ior cowgirl for the Oregon-Washington - Idaho Rodeo Association. Kay is a two-time state cham pion in barrel racing, holding the crown in 1960 and 1962. She was runnerup in 1961. The princess has been a director of the Oregon Bar rel Racing Association for three years. A 1962 graduate of Madras Un ion High School, Kay presently at tends California Polytechnical College in San Luis Obispo, Calif., where she will be a sophomore. Her field of study Is elementary education. , Lakes, III. He will complete the last two years of his four-year en listment in Guam. Visiting In Bond with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sampels, Boyd Acres, are their son and daughter-in-law, Major and Mrs. John D. Sampels, and children, Cheryl and Mike. Major Sampels has been senior adviser at the U.S. Army Reserve Center at San Jose, Calif., and Is now on his way to Fort Leavenworth, Kan sas, to attend U.S. Army general staff college. In January, he will leave for France, accompanied by his family. He will be stationed there three years, as an air ground operations officer. Martha Cirelo members. Her favorite color is blue and she can think of nothing better to eat than Italian food. Judy Culver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Culver, lives in Service Creek, northeast of Mit chell. She will ride "Sugar," her quarter horse in the rodeo fes tivities. Judy has ridden all her life and has competed in many junior ro deos. In 1962, she took grand champion in horse showmanship at the Wheeler County Fair. The 18 year old princess is a 1963 graduate of Wheeler High School in Fossil. She will enter Oregon State University this fall to study veterinary medicine. Riding, swimming, and cook ing are her favorite pastimes. She named blue as her favorite color and said that a "good old ham burger" is her favorite dish. From Corvallis comes Sharon Burnap. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Burnap.
