Vince Genna, city recreation di- roctor; will speak on the city Action aimed at milk act Oregon Milk, Inc., a corporation which purchases milk in Oregon and Washington for distribution, has filed suit in Multnomah coun ty against the Oregon Department of Agriculture, in an attempt to invalidate the new milk stabiliza tion act which went into effect in June. The incorporators in Oregon Milk are Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Markell and Dennis Marvin, all of Bend. The milk stabilization act was introduced at the recent session of the state legislature by Rep. Kcssler Cannon, R., Des chutes, Jefferson and Crook coun ties. Oregon Milk has been granted a temporary restraining order against provisions of the act, pending court action on the suit which seeks a declaratory judg ment ruling the act unconstitu tional. The local corporation, accord ing to a spokesman, contends that the act is in violation of inter state commerce, and guarantees a price to Oregon producers which is higher than the Oregon - Wash ington - Idaho price based on market conditions. The corpora tion charges that the act discrim inates against producers who don't have quotas. Two motorists draw citations Two motorists collected traffic citations Sunday from Bend po lice officers. The 21-year-old soldier is a 1960 graduate of Bend High School. Marine Corps recruiter for the local area, S-Sgt. Robert wenk heimer of Klamath Falls, will be in Bend Thursday morning, Aug ust 8, to interview young men who are interested in Marine corps enlistment programs. Neth, former Pacific Power office employee who grew up in Bend, has been promoted from office manager for the com pany at Pendleton to a new posi tion in the Kalispell, Mont., dis trict. Neth was graduated from Bend High School in 1947 and was em ployed here in the Central Oregon district office beginning in 1954. He was assigned in the field for the treasury department in 1957, when PP& transferred its billing procedures to electronic com puting, and was named district office manager in Pendleton in 1960. Birth certificates, baptismal rec ords, voting or census records will supply this information. Another thing usually needed is the amount of earning for the year before retirment and the amount earned during the year of application. Birth certificates for minor children and. In some cases, marriage certificate may also be asked for. Gayley also pointed out that each case is different. Report forms, known as a "Pre liminary Notice of Intention" to sell or lease subdivided land, are available without charge at the real estate department offices at 112 Labor & Industries Building, Salem, and 378 State Office Build ing. Portl:ind. There is no fee required for the filing of this report. Under the provisions of the law, the Com missioner is authorized to waive further report filing after an examination of the preliminary report. Conteyioner Jensen said that as a general policy, waivers will be issued after filing of the pre liminary notice for subdivisions located within this state, created under the jurisdiction of a city or county authority specified in ORS Chapter 92, and which are not advertised for sale outside this state. After September 2 it will be un lawful to offer for sale or lease any lot or parcel in a subdivision until the provisions of the new law have been complied with. By taking advantage of the early fil ing, subdividers can avoid delays resulting from congestion on the effective date of the law. A tract of land partitioned into four or more lots is a subdivision. The potluck picnic is slated for 6 p.m. Man treated after accident Two cars were involved in a crash at the intersection of the Powell Butte and Butler roads near the Bend Municipal Airport this morning about 7:30 and one driver received medical at tention. Operators of the two cars in volved were Joe Wood, Powell Butte, who was treated as an out patient at the Redmond District Hospital, and Philip Van Law-1 rence, Redmond, who suffered head injuries. Garage blaze brings firemen A fire in a garage owned by L. C. Winkle. 444 Alden, brought fire crews to that locale about 2:15 this morning. The fire, origi nating in a mattress, caused some damage to the garage, firemen said. Three small fires that broke ut Saturday were blamed on the carelessness of smokers. The first was a brush fire at the Pilot Butte Motor Court. Others broke out in sawdust at the E. Alden Ninth intersection and at Colorado and Riverside, along the river bank.
