Defending chanviion Millard Porter of Madras heads the field this year. Forte- fired rounds of 73 and 68 in ti l.ing the title last year. Other forrrer champions entered include Fred Hudspeth, the Prine ville veteran who won in 1961 and Owen Panncr, long time Bend player, who won the title in the late Ws. Also entered is former State Amateur tltleholder George Beechlcr of Prineville. Highly ra'd Doug Olson, the junior star from Medford who car ries a one handicap, is also en tered. Olson recently won the Ore gon State J uu'or title at Eugene Country Club. All three former champions are paired together. Panner, Huds--peth and Porter will tee off each day at 12:29. Paired with them is Jerry Cuiulari. former Univer sity of Oreg( n Star, who plays out of Portland and carries a o n e handicap.
