Stilton Bailey, aged 40, mill superin tendent, will probably die as the re sult of severe burns Inflicted today when he was caught In a furnace at the plant. He entered the furnace while It Was cold, to clean out the ashes, but in removing them, made a pilo at the entrance, slackiug the ashes between himself on (I the door. A steam pipe burst, and he was trapped, unable to effect a menus of egress. He buried his face In the ashes to pre vent the nocessily of breathing the steam. New Jersey, declared that $2,000,000 will cover the loss caused by the ex plosion of the munitions plant. Two are known to be dead, but an authen tic casualty list 'is at present impos sible. Many workers fled and did not return. Incendiarism is suspected. A sur geon from the emergency hospital found portions of bodies in the ruins.
