Humllton, (United Pre SUIT Correspondent.) mew 1UKK, Jan. . within a short time Ruby Robert Fitzsimmons, former middlekeight and heavy weight champion, and James J. Cor bett. former heavyweight champion, are expected to reach far back Into history, dig up the old moss-covered axes and begin their feud right where It left off. The reason for the mediaeval in clination Is found in an approaching contest between Billy Weeks arid Roddy McDonald, middleweight from Canada. Each of them claims the Canadian middleweight cham pionship and each made something of a record. Corbett claims the equal of Billy Keeks, of Vancouver, B. C, does not live, while Fitz has selected McDon ald to carry the Fitzsimmons stand ard in coming ring battles. ' Flu isn't given to raving - over youngsters, but. after having seen McDonald In' action "' the one-time champion made the assertion that he expected the youngster to capture the middleweight championship. ' Corbett already has made his state ments regarding Weeks. Now he wants to see the two youngsters get together and decide who is the best picker, " ,. . ' r' " McDonald is a native Canadian. Weeks was born in Boston and has spent most of his time In Western Canada. '. McDonald lived near Cape Breton in Nova Scotia. Each weighs about 155 pounds In good condition, and each' stands about 5 feet eight inches high. McDAnald has already appeared in New York bouts, while Weeks started from Canada to work himself to this settlement. - Promoters already- are angling for a match between the two, MRS. WILSOtf MAY NOW INVITE OWN GUESTS First ,tly of the Land Cuts IKn Invitation Lists, KstabllNhliig New Social Prrreilrnt. (By United Pre to The Dally Bulletin) WASHINGTON. Jen. 8. Mrs. Wil son today is the "ultimate authority on all invitations to White House soc ial functions. For the first time in years, a management of these events has been transferred from the execu tive offices to tho mansion proper, As a result, the number of Invited guests to the state events has fallen off between fifty and sixty nor cent Incidentally tho new regime has brought joy and peaco to the minds of assistant secretaries in the busi ness wing of the White House. In the past, the functions given by the President have been attended about equally bytthose on the regular White House lists and by those who request special invitations. Each reception is preceded by letters and phono calls from senators, congressmen and oth ers, appealing in behalf of themselves and others, for precious cards of ad mission. Now it's all changed. The assist ants merely refer those asking invi tations, airectiy to Mrs. Wilson, or her secretary. Miss Edith Benham. Hence the big reduction In guests, noted for the first time at the Judic ial reception. WOMAN CHAMPION OF MINDIUM WAGE LAW ? BIG NAVAL DEMONSTRATION f 0 MARK TAKING OVER OF DANISH WEST INDIES (By United Pre to The Daily Bulletin) DENVER, Colo.. Jan. 8. Miss Clara Ruth Moizer, the only woman assistant state's attorney general in the United States, appointed to the position in response to the demands of the women of this state, today started her campaign to force the democratic party to live up to its pledges and put through a minimum wage law for women at the present session of the state legislature. The bill passed the last legislature and vetoed by the governor will be amended and reintroduced at this session. The most important changes in the bill, which is patterned after the Oregon law, will be the inclusion of piece workers as well as wage workers in the minimum, according to Miss Mozzer. If the bill passes, all cases coming under the new law while she holds office will be turned over to Miss Mozzcr. : 1 j lU'HINICHH AND , I'UOl-KWIOX VERNON A. Taxes to Be Butchered. As fast as they are cornered, Taxes, which are, said to' abound among the camp followers of the Office Holders, will be exterminated, but experienced observers, who have witnessed other similar .massacres, say others will spring up to take their places. Now that the trenches have been won, there will be a lot of fence building to be done. The erection of fences, and keeping them in re pair, are considered very Important factors in the successful conduct of this sort of campaigning. Probably some of the fences will have barbed wire, and a few, may be charged with electric currents. But the trouble ! is that several Prospective Candidates 'seem to want to build their fences i en the same ground, so there may he ! quite a row before the fencing is all I done.
