(From Tuesday's Dally.)
That the Central Oregon Irrigation
Company will hereafter maintain an
office. In llenil became known this
nook when F. S. Stanley, president
of tho company, announced that he
would move his desk at once from
tho company's offices In Deschutes
and tako spaco with Harrison Lath
am at tho corner of Oregon and Wall
streets. For somo years past the
company's offices have been In Des
chutes, where they were moved from
Bend, and tho general offlco will still
be maintained there.
Information concerning the change
was given out by Mr, Stanley on his
return from Portland yesterday.
Itcfcrrlng to the proposal of the
company to Irrigate new lands In the
Vowcll Butte section and the settlers'
petition for the formation of an Irri
gation district which Is to como be
fore tho county court on Wednesday,
Mr. Stanley eald that the company
was not averse to a largo district
end might favor the district now pro
moted. Continuing, Mr. Stanley said:
"Wo havo not been taken Into tho
counsel of Mr, De Armond and as
sociates in the matter of forming the
district and as we would appear to
4)0 Interested both financially and
lor tho good of the country should
know something of the plans. The
law is very plain in some matters
rclatlvo to the district, but as we
have not gone into the matter as
deep as wo will as soon as our at
torneys get the time, we cannot say
at this time what action we will take
in tho formation of the district.
Sees Good In District.
"I will say this. That the com
pany would like to finish up the
ork and get through and get some
returns from its investment. The
agitation In tho formation of a dis
trict will no doubt result In some
good, and, as before stated, the com
pany may assist and favor the district
when tho details are fully explained.
I personally feel that Mr. De Armond ,
docs not understand the petition as'10"11,
