HamitoN, Oct. 24. John Whit taker returned Sunday from the Willamette Valley. He brought some fine horses as far as Prineville where they were sold nt the county fair. Mrs. M. L. Peck left last week for Portland to visit her son and other relatives and friends. I. Zerolf is out of the valley after a load of lumber. A. T. Frame is nt his Bend home for a few weeks. Coyotes have become very bold in this neighborhood. Last Friday evening before dnrk they raided Louie Miller's chicken house and destroyed over half the fine Hock. Little William Peck was taken ill very suddenly last Monday but is much improved nt present. Wm. Fraser and Mr. Gilliam each made a trip to Bend the past week for provisions. Louie Miller and wife and II. C. Miller are out on a hay baling trip. Mr. Brickey passed through Hampton last evening with n heavy load of lumber which he brought from a Bend mill.
