Hrown, Mr. and Mrs. Davidson and Miss Vrcidt spent a part of the day fishing along the river near I.avn Island. While there Mrs. Davidson lost a pocketbook contain ing two unset opals that she valued very highly and $3.00 iu silver. They searched long and diligently but were unable to find the pocket book. The next day Mr. David sou, while telling of the incident, remarked to Alvin Whitsctt that he would gladly give 10 for the re turn of the opals. Whereupon Al vin and Steve Stcidl betook them selves to the scene of the loss on a search that everyone thought would prove hdpclessly futile. The pock etbook had been dropped some where in a distance of a mite or two up and down the river bank. How evert after tjulje a search the boys were succteSsfii-! just as they were about to abandon the quest, brought the pocketbook back to Heud and received the reward.
