Slice oranges very thin, using one cupful of prepared fruit to one quart o f sour milk and two cupfuls o f sugar. Seuthem Spoon Bread.—To one pint of white corn meal add a tablespoon- rul o f lard. on«Aalf«teaspoonfnl of salt, and mix with'water to q smooth paste, using warm watef, which swells tbe meal—boiling water would «poll It. Add a beaten egg to the paste, the white and yolk beaten separately, then one cnpfut o f buttermilk or «our milk and one-half teaspoonful of soda. Beat the batter until very smooth and light and pour Into a hot. well-greased gran ite pan and bake tn a hot oven. Serve from the pan. All sorts o f cakes and cookies, gln- gertireads and biscuits are made with sour milk, buttermilk or cream. Quick Brown Bread.— Take one-half cupful o f New Orleans molasses, one pint c f 'sour milk, one teaspoonful of soda, three cupfuls of graham flour and one teaspoonful o f salt.
