Business conditions generally jn Hoquiam are such as to war rant extensive work, as indica tions point to a long period o f increased prosperity and activity. The intention o f the council is to bnild carefully with perma nency as well as first-class streets at the present time as the chief object. After making a careful study o f paving materials, bitulithic is being used extensively. Bitu lithic has been found to be last ing and economical and especially easy on horses and automobiles. Its past record in many North western cities shows it to be well suited to the climatic conditions o f this section, which is a matter of importance in choosing pav ing. DUNDEE William Hill returned from a business trip to Toledo on Mon day. Frederick Humberger has also been to Toledo where he ex pects to purchase property. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Vedder are rejoicing over the arrival o f a son bom on Sunday. Miss Bertha Reed and Miss Pomroy, of Portland, spent the week end at Miss Reed’s home in the hills. Grandma Huckleberry, William Huckleberry and Clark Noble o f Portland, visited at the Bennett home on Sunday.
