Most of life her has been spent at Dun dee, where she was loved and re spected by all. Three years ago she took a business course at the Portland Business College, but tw o years ago she was called home during the illness and death o f her father to assist in the post office, and has since been assist ant postmaster for her mother. Becoming despondent and think ing she had nothing to live for, she took carbolic add last Thurs day evening. was uncon- scius for ten hours, then became conscious for twenjty-four hours before she died. She told her mother several times that she had prayed to God and that all was well with her—her peace was made with her Heavenly Father and she longed to be at rest. Died at her home near Champoeg, December 20, 1908, aged sixty-five years, her hus band having died some years ago. To them were born tw elve child ren, seven girls and five boys, eight o f whom are living. Both were members o f the Friends church and lived consistent Chris tian lives. The funeral services were con ducted at the home on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. A. }. John Branohr a retired Presbyterian minister,, a veteran of the Civil war, having served as chaplain and who wan a mem ber of the G. A. R. post at Dayton, died in the hospital at the soldiers home at Roseburg December 16. He leaves a wife, tw o son» and tw o daughters to mourn hi» to*» but he has gone to bis reward.
