thus assuring a rare treat to onr
visitors from the east and over
across the seas, for this is really
an international event a t which
consumer, buyer and producer^ !
w ill meet for conference, discus
sion an d good fellowship.
This announcement is fo r the
purpose prim arily of enlisting
your support in behalf of the dis
play. I t is time you were think
ing about what part you w ill
take on this feature o f the con
vention. Do something; just as
much as y ou can. Exhibit stand
ards in the commercial packs or
new or little known varieties on
plates or otherwise, but tor the
good name o f your district, do
something, the best you may to
keep the community credit at the
top.
In a few weeks the horticultur
al and farm papers w ill have a
foil list o f awards together with
the conditions of competition.
Do not lose sight o f the fact that
this is one o f the very best places
at which you can do good work
tor your locality.
Thousands w ill visit the fruit
.exhibit and will gather from it a
far better opinion o f your prod
ucts than it is possible to obtain
from any amount o f printed mat
ter.
As an educational event there
has never been any occasion in
the northwest to approach it in
comprehensiveness.
The asso
ciation had a grand time at Van
couver last year, the best up to
that date. This year the asso
ciation is a year older and in con
sequence must be bigger, better
and entitled to greater respect.
This is the most comprehensive
organization o f its kind on the
continent and Portland is going
to entertain the visiting dele
gates in a style befitting their
rank and their glorious occupa
tion.
You w ill miss a great big en
thusiastic educational meeting if
you are not in Portland, Oregon,
