W ood Pulp Buoy bo Vory C om m itt«« to During 8ummor. * Washington, June' ».— The wood pulp and paper investigation commit tee o f the house, which presented its preliminary report to that body oev- erai days ago, w ill continue its inves tigations during the recess o f con gress. It is the purpose o f Chairman Mann to gather a great deal df sta tistical information of the census bu- rdhu and the Department o f Com merce and Labor during the coming summer. Subcommittees will also be appointed to visit paper mills in differ ent sections o f the country and take testimony, and it“ is possible the full committee will hold a number of meetings. It is also the desire o f Chairman Mann to investigate thoroughly the pulp wood question, and if it is pos sible the committee will visit Canada fo r this purpose. Several letter» have been sent to the publishers o f news- iapers who failed to answer the first etter sent by the committee asking for information, and also t o . paper manufacturers. '’ft* - Big Drydock for Bremerton. —^W ashington, June « . — Revised spe cifications for the naval drydock to be built at the Bremerton navy yard, On Puget Sound, were completed to day by Rear Admiral Holliday, ^hief o f the navy yards bureau. It is ex pected that the dock d ill be complet ed 18 months from July I, when work is expected to be started. Bids for the construction o f the dock have been asked, and it is announced that they will be opened on June 18. The preparations are being carried on with,dispatch, and it is not thought that any delay will be permitted.
